About

Our
Mission

TEDxPensacola was founded in 2017, bringing ideas worth sharing to the Gulf Coast. Like so many things, COVID shut us down. In 2025, a new group of local volunteers brought it back.

We are an independent, community-driven platform for thinkers, builders, educators, and innovators whose ideas deserve wider visibility. Our mission is to reveal and elevate meaningful ideas through honest conversation and authentic community connection — fully independent, in the spirit of TED's mission of ideas worth spreading.

For 2026, we are intentionally starting close to home, featuring speakers from Pensacola and the surrounding region whose work has been hidden in plain sight.

This is not a limitation — it is a deliberate beginning.

TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At TEDxPensacola, live speakers will spark deep discussion and connection in our community. While TEDx events are independently organized and operated under license from TED, they follow the same format: short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less) focused on ideas worth spreading.

Everyone! TEDxPensacola is designed for community members of all ages — educators, entrepreneurs, students, civic leaders, creatives, and curious minds alike. Whether you've called Pensacola home your whole life, recently made it home, or are just visiting — you belong here.

Tickets are available through our Events page on a first-come, first-served basis. Pricing varies by event type — from smaller community gatherings to full-day experiences that include speakers, curated programming, and meals.

We're looking for voices with ideas worth sharing. No sales pitches, no résumés — just original thinking that deserves to be heard. Application details and submission instructions are on our Join Us page.

TEDxPensacola talks span arts, technology, science, education, civic life, and everything in between. Per TED guidelines, all talks must be idea-driven, non-commercial, and focused on spreading knowledge that benefits others. The one requirement: it has to be worth sharing.

TEDxPensacola is entirely volunteer-run and community-funded. You can support us by partnering with the event, volunteering your time, or simply spreading the word. Partnership opportunities are available for individuals, businesses, and organizations who want to invest in ideas.
